Dear Students,
You might have heard on the 22nd February, the Prime Minister has announced that schools will reopen on the 8th March!
This confirmed date is great news for staff and students alike at Ray Cochrane Beauty School. While we have done our best to move theory learning online where possible, nothing compares to having students in the building and classes again!
How we are preparing for student’s return
Speaking of classes, students at Ray Cochrane can rest assured that classrooms are all modified to meet government guidelines. The modification includes a reduced number of students in practical workspaces. Students have to wear the correct PPE at all times around the building and during lessons. When completing practical studies, you will have to wear face masks, gloves, and visors. These changes are in place to ensure that we are not contributing to the spread of the virus.
All students will have their temperatures taken upon arrival. If you feel as though you have symptoms, please do not come to school. Rather, please inform the school of your symptoms via phone call or email and get tested. Once you have received your test results, please inform the administration team before your return.
We will also like to inform students that those with a continuous cough, will be asked to leave the premises. This is to ensure the comfort and safety of other students and our staff on the premises.
Also, per the government guidelines, students should aim to complete a lateral flow test. These should be completed twice-weekly if attending a full-time course. To find out if your local council offers walking testing sites, click here. If you need proof of student status, we will be more than happy to provide you with a letter of proof.
The beauty industry is one that thrives off enforced hygiene and health and safety practices. These high standards in health and safety are taught and practiced throughout all of our beauty courses. These standards ensure that upon completion, students can enter the beauty industry with mindful hygiene habits. Those that are enrolling in our VTCT courses will have to complete a prerequisite Covid-19 awareness course. This is the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services. The course prepares learners for the reopening of beauty salons and providing treatments safely in a sterile manner.
The Ray Cochrane Beauty School is always committed to ensuring our students, staff, and visitors’ wellbeing.
In other news, based on this announcement, we have released a new set of course start dates based on these guidelines. As always, in these times, dates are subject to change based on government guidelines.
