Throughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of the COVID-19 virus, the importance of social
responsibility and the methods used to control transmissions – such as correct hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
As you carry out the COVID prevention course online, you will be able to complete it at your own pace in your own home. To obtain VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty Therapy and Nail Services, you need to complete 1 module and pass an online theory exam. The module will cover:

- 2 Understand social responsibility for the beauty therapy and nail services sector in relation to COVID-19

- 4 Understand the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hand Hygiene and Personal Hygiene in the prevention of COVID-19
- 5 Understand potential hazards and risks and the workplace procedures necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the beauty salon/nail bar
- 6 Understand decontamination and waste management processes relevant to beauty therapy and nail services
