VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peeling (chemical peels) is an advanced qualification that has been designed uniquely for level 3 qualified beauty therapists or medical experts who want to add advanced aesthetic treatments to their treatment offerings. 

The Level 4 chemical peels course will not only teach you how to correctly complete skin peeling treatments. Students will also learn the science behind the procedure to develop all the skills required to carry out skin peeling treatments safely.

Upon completing the Level 4 Chemical Peeling course, you will reach a very high level of competence at performing chemical skin peeling treatments safely and professionally.

Course Outline

What Will You Learn from the Chemical Peel Course?

In the Advanced consultation for non-medical aesthetic therapies unit, training will include: the how-tos of client consultation – explaining procedures, contraindications, and patch testing. Students will learn how to give Post-treatment advice – the need for SPF & UVA sun protectors, preventing infection, and additional treatment plans.

The Principles and practice of non-medical aesthetic therapies unit will focus on the core science behind chemical peels – the whys, the hows, and when. Students will also learn health and safety elements that cover preparing the working area, sterilising equipment, and the correct disposal of equipment. 

Advanced skincare for non-medical aesthetic therapies will cover the various acids used in chemical peels – the pH, percentages, and application process.

Finally, in the Providing Skin Peeling unit, we will teach you how to treat a range of skin concerns including acne, dehydrated skin, dull skin tones, enlarged skin pores, fine lines, wrinkles & hyperpigmentation.

To obtain the VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Certificate in Chemical Peeling, you need to learn the following 4 units
  • 1 Principles and practice of non-medical aesthetic therapies
  • 2 Advanced consultation for non-medical aesthetic therapies
  • 3 Advanced skin care for non-medical aesthetic therapies
  • 4 Provide skin peeling treatments

  • 1 How will I be assessed for a chemical skin peeling course?

    You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence including an assignment and 6 case studies at the Academy and pass the external practical examination.

  • 2 What is the structure of the VTCT Level 4 chemical peel course?

    The course is 12 weeks long and includes 6 days of onsite theory and practical training. School attendance is one day per week on every Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.
