We will be introducing the VTCT (ITEC) accredited Level 4 Certificate in Skin Peeling Course.
What are Chemical Skin Peels?
Skin peeling treatment is a skin-resurfacing method that uses chemicals to exfoliate the skin. Chemicals used for skin peeling treatments include:
- Salicylic Acid
- Glycolic Acid
- Lactic Acid
- Mandelic Acid
- Kojic Acid
Once applied to the skin, the chemicals purposely break down the top layers of the epidermis. This causes the skin to begin peeling, removing the dull skin cells. The skin peeling treatments will expose brighter and healthier skin underneath. Chemical Skin Peels also encourage new cell stimulation and increased production of collagen.
The chemicals offer various strengths of peeling; superficial, medium, and deep. Depending on the strength of the peel would determine the layer of skin targeted.
Before the treatment begins, clients will have to meet with the skin peeling specialist for a consultation. Throughout the consultation, the specialist will ask questions that will help determine the best treatment plan. These questions will help prepare the client for the treatment and understand your skin concerns better. The specialist should also use this time to provide aftercare information.
What are the Benefits of Chemical Skin Peels?
Many benefits come with skin peeling that might not be achieved as quickly with a skincare routine. The benefits include:
